The other day I was in Barnes and Noble and they had done the most simplest thing- but I was so in awe.
They had taken about ten books, wrapped them in brown wrapper, then wrote on the outside a short intro about the story. You got to pick your read based solely on the story- not what the book looked like, not who wrote it, but just on what you found was the most interesting story. This gave new authors as much a chance as established authors. Took away the shiny art work- to get right to the read.
Wouldn't it be grand if we could do this with other things- and take the ideas and attitudes we have about things away- just leave a choice on what truly mattered.
Hats off to whoever thought of that offer- I loved the idea.
